General Questions

The Food Independence Summit is for:

• Those who are new to homesteading and food preparation at home and want to learn how to start.

• Children and teenagers who want a day of fun and learning around animals and wholesome activities.

• (The homesteading or micro-homesteading world is very broad.) Though someone may doing something already (gardening, fermenting, canning, baking bread, keeping bees, raising chickens, etc.) this event offers opportunities to learn about something new that our guests may not be doing yet.

• Anyone who wants to be inspired and educated about the current condition of food sourcing and what it may take to make one move in the direction of greater food independence for individuals and families.

Come early – Gates open at 7am. Have the email of your ticket confirmation ready to show at the gate. (One Coffee/one Doughnut for $3 are served on the grounds.)

Prepare yourself for the speakers presenting from the Main Stage beginning at 8:30am.

Food is served at 12noon, after the morning Main Stage speakers, in the tent directly adjacent to the main stage tent. (Make sure you have your food tickets purchased and be ready to show email receipt.) If you need a ticket go here.

After lunch the action will begin in the Exhibitor and Workshop Tents area. Take time to check out the scheduled workshop presentations and decide ahead which ones you won’t want to miss. It will be impossible to fully absorb all of them. Choose two or three scheduled workshops you don’t want to miss. This will allow you to breathe between sessions 🙂 and also have quality time with the exhibitors and those with ongoing presentations from their respective booths.

Then wind down the afternoon of the first day and join us for the fundraiser Rory Feek event on the Main Stage. Make sure to secure your concert ticket from here.

Plan to spend the day and be fully present.

Don’t allow outside distractions and drink it all in.

We believe you will be rewarded with each day well spent when you join us.

Welcome. Looking forward to seeing you soon. Any questions, please ask here.

The meals served in the Food Tent on both days is MSG-free.

The meals served in the Food Tent on both days is all gluten-free except the meatloaf on the second day.
